Grow Fiji started its first farm in Rewa at the Nasali Landing area on September, 2015. It is located close to Suva and Nausorri shown here at exhibit A. We grew long beans, cabbage, tomatoes and, cucumber on less than a acre plot to do a test run. We had a major pest infestation and only the cucumbers gave us a harvest. Replanting phase will consist of addressing pest and disease control measures.

The farmstead is stationed on the Rewa River water way.

The area we are farming is considerably small. We will expand the growing are when improvemnts are made in growing the products, and sales.

The tractor could not till the area until the rain stopped and the grounds hardened up. The workers started breaking up the soil.

The field was ripped up and now we needed the tractor to begin tilling. It had been raining the whole month and some of the workers had to manually break up the soil to start some seedlings.

Tuqovu lives and owns the piece of property.

Without rototillers the cost was more because of extra time and labor to get things ready.

Good moisture and fertile soils allowed the seeds to germinate with no problems.

Beds are ready, the post are up for the long beans to grow on.

The long beans did well in the starting phase but took a hit to bugs as they grew. We will implement better growing techniques so we can improve.

The water tank has been put into place with a pump and PVC piping to assist in irrigation. Even though rain fall is high its important.

Cabbage was eaten up by bugs.

Cucumbers

Tomato plants.

Cucumbers did well but the cabbages in the back ground were infested with bugs.
